Sheriff's Report, November 21, 2013

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

November 11 – 8:44 a.m. A caller reported seeing a boat anchored off Coffee Pot Island and no sign of boaters. 11:46 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a juvenile had run away; deputies responded and the juvenile returned.

November 12 – 2:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the clinic to transport an elderly woman who was having a heart attack. 3:10 p.m. A caller reported damage to his parked vehicle while visiting family in the Elochoman Valley. 5:23 p.m. A motorist reported a vehicle passing on corners and in no passing zones headed westbound on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 7:19 p.m. A caller reported two separate break ins and the theft of marijuana and expired marijuana cards; a deputy was advised.

November 13 – 8:32 a.m. A caller reported that a suspicious vehicle had been parked on a logging road in Middle Valley for two days; a deputy attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle. 10:14 a.m. An alarm was sounded at a Cathlamet residence; a deputy responded. 12:26 p.m. A caller reported the collision of two log trucks in Grays River. One driver had a head injury; state patrol was notified and the Grays River ambulance responded to aid the driver. 2:20 p.m. A caller reported the rape of a child; a deputy responded. 2:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was complaining of hip and back pain.

November 14 – 12:05 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was unconscious. 12:50 a.m. A caller who had been unable to contact family for several hours requested a welfare check; a deputy responded. 3:27 p.m. A caller reported seeing kids crawling under a Cathlamet business.

November 15 -- 8:01 a.m. A caller reported that the windows had been broken on a vehicle parked alongside SR 4 near Mill Creek Road; Cowlitz County was notified. 9:56 a.m. A caller requested a standby for a residential eviction. 11:04 a.m. A caller reported a disabled logging truck on SR 4 near Bjornsgard Road; state patrol was notified. 12:40 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report concerns about a loose pitbull; a deputy responded. 8:03 p.m. A caller reported that car had stalled in the roadway after hitting a large rock on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 9:40 p.m. An alarm sounded at a Cathlamet business; a deputy responded to find the smoke detector had been activated.

November 16 – 12:52 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported the theft of a bicycle from their carport; a deputy was advised. 5:39 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that a juvenile was threatening suicide; mental health was notified.

November 17 – The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was concerned about a problem with medication. 9:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was not feeling well. 10:32 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an elderly Grays River resident who was choking. 11:33 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported seeing someone prowling around a carport; deputies responded. 11:45 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was experiencing chest and arm pain.

November 18 –1:54 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who may have had a heart attack. 9:25 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident with hip pain. 9:47 a.m. The District Four fire department responded to Rosedale residence to assist with a lift.
