Food Bank is in need of driver

To The Eagle:

The Lions food drive was a great success. It is more than driving a vehicle and picking up food.

There were routes to assign to men and someone to go with them to pick up the food. We had a shortage of drivers due to hunting and a funeral later in the afternoon, but the good Lord helped us find some.

The volunteers wore badges so people would know them. They unloaded the food at the food bank and the volunteers put the food on the shelves. Somewhere in between, there was pop and pizza to eat and we have food on the shelves.

So many people to thank, and God bless you all.

Now, I have a big request. I need someone with a vehicle that can haul 200 loaves of bread. The bread will be in containers, I think they are 5x5 feet or 5x7 feet. The food store will load them for us. This will take place on Monday, November 25 at 9 a.m. sharp and I will have someone to unload them at the food bank.

My phone number is 795-3553. Please leave a message if I am not home when you call. You will be helping many people.

On behalf of all the volunteers, thanks so very much and God bless you all, again.

Jimmie Lou Cleveland, Cathlamet
