Cross Country

Last Thursday, the Mule and Warrior cross country teams traveled to Morton/White Pass to compete in the Fast & Flat meet.

The middle school was represented by eighth graders Nate Hargrove and Aly Kirzy. Hargrove placed ninth with a time of 12:58 and Kirzy placed fifth with a time of 12:36.

For the high school, running twice the distance of middle school teams, at 5,000 meters, juniors Luke Stacey placed 25th with a time of 20:56; Elliott Haney placed 30th with a time of 21:38, and Nevan Bingham came in at 40 with a time of 22:49.

On the girls’ side, ninth graders Mya Kirzy placed 12th with a time of 24:24, Trynity Mendez placed 18th with a time of 26:58 and Kyrah Scuito came in 27th with a time of 32:19. Junior Shelby Abbot came in 19th with a time of 27:10.

On Saturday, they traveled to Tacoma to compete in the Pacific Lutheran University High School & Middle School X-C Invitational. Hargrove finished 2000 meters in 9:18.53, placing 27th and Aly Kirzy was 10th in her race with a time of 9:47.11. High school races were 5,000 meters. On the girls side, in the freshman/sophomore race, Mya Kirzy ran for a time of 25:28.8, placing 37th, Trynity Mendez came in at 42 with a time of 27:08.9 and Kyrah Scuito was 60th with a time of 33:23.72. In the boys junior/senior race, Elliott Haney finished in 54th place with a time of 21:47.05 and Nevan Bingham finished in 25:15.8, coming in 84th.

The home meet at Wahkiakum High School scheduled for today (Thursday) has been cancelled. The runners will travel to Ilwaco on October 9 for their next competitive run.
