Sheriff's Report October 3, 2013

This weekend the weather caused a few power outages and a bit of debris on Wahkiakum County roadways, including downed trees and rocks. There were reports of minor flooding on Eden Valley, Wirkkala and Deep River roads and more than one tree brought down power lines as well. Other calls this week include:

September 23 – 11:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly resident with back pain. 11:54 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale resident who was having trouble breathing. 2:57 p.m. A caller reported that cows were on the shoulder of SR 4 near Skamokawa; deputies and state patrol were advised. The owner was notified and will fix the fence. 7:37 p.m. A caller reported a hit and run involving a dog; a deputy responded. The dog had to be put down. 8:52 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island residence to aid a woman who was vomiting blood. 10:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an unconscious Elochoman Valley resident.

September 24 – 9:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale resident who was bleeding. 11:37 a.m. A Puget Island resident called to report a theft on their property. 1:57 p.m. A caller reported that two kids were truant; a deputy responded. 2:10 p.m. A caller reported abandoned cats; a humane society officer was advised. 3:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the Family Health Center to transport an elderly resident. 5:38 p.m. The sheriff’s office was able to locate a person who had gotten lost in the Elochoman Valley. 7:29 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance met a vehicle carrying an unconscious male from Gray’s River. 8:26 p.m. A caller reported rocks in the roadway on SR 4 near Nassa Point; state patrol responded.

September 25 – 10:58 a.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at an Elochoman Valley residence; there was no fire. 3:24 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported an assault; deputies responded. 6:51 p.m. A caller reported softball size rocks on the roadway near Nassa Point; a deputy was unable to locate them. 8:00 p.m. A caller reported getting stuck behind a gate on a logging road near Germany Creek; no one with a key was available, the vehicle remained overnight. 11:08 p.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported that someone was prowling; a deputy responded.

September 26 – 12:25 p.m. A Rosedale caller reported that someone had stolen gasoline from him and a neighbor.

September 27 -- 1:45 a.m. A caller reported that a hitchhiker was yelling at vehicles in the Rosedale area; state patrol was unable to locate the person. 3:25 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence to aid a male who was having difficulty breathing. 9:50 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley residence to aid a man who was concerned he was going to have a seizure. 1:53 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported the sexual abuse of a child; the case is being investigated. 3:41 p.m. A caller reported cows on a Puget Island roadway; the owner moved the cows. 8:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island residence.

September 28 – 4:54 p.m. A caller from a Skamokawa business reported an intoxicated driver heading west; the state patrol was notified. 5:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a rollover traffic accident west of Skamokawa. 10:21 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident.

September 29 – 2:15 a.m. A caller reported that a shot had been fired at a Skamokawa business; a deputy responded. There were no injuries, a firearm was secured and the Cathlamet ambulance was called to aid the person, at his request. 2:36 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a call at a Skamokawa business. 6:19 a.m. Pacific County notified the sheriff’s office that a man was seen near Deep River, putting on a shirt and hat and walking towards Wahkiakum county. 10:55 a.m. District 4 fire fighters responded to a report of smoke in an Elochoman Valley residence; the resident was concerned it was an electrical fire; the PUD was notified. 12:05 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Puget Island resident complaining of heart problems. 2:32 p.m. The Cathlamet fire department responded to a brush fire involving power lines near West Cape Horn; the PUD was notified. 3:07 p.m. A deputy responded to a call about a civil dispute regarding property in Skamokawa. 4:37 p.m. A caller reported the violation of a parenting plan; a deputy was advised. 6:47 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone had broken in and stolen medication; a deputy was advised.
