Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of
reports during the past week, including:
September 9—7:55 p.m. A motorist reportedhitting a deer in the Grays River area; state patrol
was notified.
September 10—8:40 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a theft. 1:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance
responded to aid an Elochoman Valley resident who had injured a leg in a fall. 1:54 p.m. The Cathlamet
ambulance responded to a residence in Elochoman Valley where an overdose was reported. 4:41 p.m.
A traffic accident was reported in Middle Valley involving a log truck that had rolled over and into
a ditch. There were no injuries but a transformer may have been damaged; sheriff’s office responded, PUD was notified.
September 11—8:34 a.m. A motorist in Elochoman Valley requested service; tow service notified.
11:47 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident with a complication due to
diabetes. Patient was combative; deputy responded.1:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid
a Cathlamet resident that was feeling ill. 1:56 p.m. A Rosedale resident called to report that a friend
was being harassed; a domestic violence advocate was notified. 5:13 p.m. A caller reported that a man
was screaming and would not cooperate; a deputy responded. 6:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance
responded to aid an elderly Rosedale resident with breathing problems. 6:39 p.m. A motorist reported
being threatened by another driver on SR 4; a deputyresponded.
September 12—9:53 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a student with a knee injury
at the high school. 11:30 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported that a neighbor was trespassing. 4:13 p.m.
A sexual assault was reported in Erickson Park; a suspect is in custody. 6:16 p.m. The Cathlamet
ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley resident with complications due to diabetes.
September 13—7:15 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Puget Island
resident with a possible heart problem. 9:18 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet
resident with heart problems. 11:06 a.m. A hiker called from the Grays River area to report that he
and his friend had been hunting mushrooms and that his friend was missing; deputies responded.
4:22 p.m. A caller reported a controlled burn in the Elochoman Valley; the Cathlamet fire department
responded and notified the resident of burning regulations. The fire was put out. 5:49 p.m. A caller
reported vandalism to a car; a deputy responded. 11:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded
to aid an Elochoman Valley resident complaining of chest pain; the resident was transported via
Lifeflight.
September 14—12:25 a.m. An security alarmwas sounded at a Puget Island residence; a deputyresponded and reported that all was secure. 12:28a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported trespassers;a deputy responded and advised the trespassers.3:33 p.m. A brush fire was reported in theElochoman Valley; the Cathlamet fire department responded. 6:34 p.m. A juvenile with an outstanding warrant was located at Erickson Park; the juvenilewas transported to Kelso Juvenile Detention Center.6:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded toSkamokawa Vista Park to aid a man having seizures.6:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who had received injuries from a horse accident. 8:32 p.m. A caller reported a deceased deer on SR 4 near the Elochoman Valley; DOT was notified. 8:53 p.m. A caller reported that the spouse had been drinking and had taken the car; the state patrol was notified.
September 15—7:46 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Glengate residence to aid a man complaining of back pain. 12:48 p.m. A caller reported a possible trespass on logging road in Middle Valley; a deputy was advised.
September 16—7:26 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance
responded to aid an Elochoman Valley
resident who was having seizures; the resident was
transported via Lifeflight.
