Volleyball teams tangle today to start season

Kayli Hurley has returned for a second season to coach a more seasoned Mule volleyball team. After last year’s period of growth, marked by frustration and loss, Hurley is excited to move forward.

“We’ve got a good group transitioning to high school volleyball,” said Hurley, “and a solid crew returning. We’re in a much better place, and we’ve had a really positive start to the season.”

There are five seniors returning this year. They are Delaney Doumit, Jem Dyer, Madison LaBerge, Stephanie Moonen and Maya Stanley.

Players continued to vie for starting positions until today (Thursday), when their first game begins at home at 4:30 p.m. against Naselle with C-squad action. The varsities will tangle around 7 p.m. There is an alumni game scheduled for September 21 at 6 p.m.
