Willow Grove Pirate Festival starts Kickstarter campaign

Organizers of the Willow Grove Pirate Festival have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the 2014 festival.

David Tedder, Rikkisa Harrison, Heath Wemmer and Christen Ellis formed the nonprofit Willow Grove Pirates Guild, PC for doing this and other Renaissance and pirate themed events.

Kickstarter is a web-based program in which people donate funds to events and programs they want to support. Interested persons may learn more about the program and how to sponsor at : http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/willowgrovepirates/willow-grove-pirates-guild-2014-pirate-festival.

Next year's festival will be held August 1-3. Festival Public Relations Director Christie Ellis said the festival will feature food, crafts and merchandise in a port-themed marketplace with entertainment from pirate-themed bands.

"Our goal is to expand from a small pirate music festival mini faire into a full fair," Ellis said in a news release. "We want to hire two main stage pirate bands this year for the final fair day, have at least five reenactment societies and have entertainers from all over the Pacific Northwest mingling with the crowd at all times."
