Adeline Durrah

Adeline B. Peterson Durrah, 86, of Cathlamet died July 25, 2013, under hospice care at her granddaughter's home in Kelso.

She was born October 15, 1926, in Hettinger County, N.D., to Raphael and Kathryn (Decker) Brinster. Adeline moved to Kelso from North Dakota in 1948.

She married Clarence Peterson Jan. 1, 1949, in Kelso. He preceded her in death in 1994. On Sept. 27, 1996, she married James "Jimmy" Durrah. He passed away in 2012.

Adeline was a homemaker and a member of the Kelso-Longview Elks, the Eagles and the Moose lodges. She enjoyed traveling with Jimmy, gardening, fishing and dancing. Adeline was a happy person.

Adeline is survived by five children, Jeanette Koljonen of Clatskanie, Martin Peterson and Gary Peterson, both of Longview, Leo Peterson of Castle Rock and Signe Peterson of Kelso; four stepchildren, Donna Hamilton and Leo Kimm, both in Oregon, Rick Durrah of Cathlamet and Dwaine Durrah of Longview; three sisters, Barbara Steiner of Portland, Ann Frank of Minneapolis and Leona Selinger of Brainard, Minn .; two brothers, Raphael Brinster and Leslie Brinster, both of Dickinson, N.D .; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Adeline was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

She was buried at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Kelso. Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
