Local student Bryanna Peek recently displayed her artwork at Redmen Hall along with several other local students, in the Rock ‘n Roll Congress Art Show. The show ended this past weekend.
Bryanna, the daughter of Denise and Doug Peek, will be a sophomore at Wahkiakum High School this year. She enjoys biking, swimming and listening to music, but mostly she likes art. She had the winning design for this year's Great White-tail Run, and she also designed a T-shirt for a softball team, the Steamboat Slough Rats.
She is always drawing. When she was younger, video game characters were frequently her subject.
“Almost all my friends,” said Peek, “can point out my childhood love for the game Super Mario due to me drawing the characters all the time.”
She likes to use pencils and watercolors. She even does some digital work.
As for the future, it’s still a long way off, but she’s already thinking about art school and a career in concept art or animation.
