Golf tournament raises scholarship funds

Competition was tight Saturday in the Kiwanis Club of Cathlamet's annual scholarship fund raising golf tournament.

The team of Wayne Cochran, Marsha Cleveland, Randy Coleman and Brysen Coleman claimed the championship, shooting a 57 in the scramble tournament.

Placing second was the team of Robin Herren, Kim Herren, Randy Rodahl and Shannon Moore; they scored 58.

In third place with a 62 were Fred Carter, Don Conway, Nick Vavoudis and John Collier, and placing fourth with 65 were Steve McNally, David McNally, John Thomas and Dan Doumit.

In side contests, Kim Herren had the shot closest to the pin for women, and Marsha Cleveland hit the longest drive.

For the men, Conway hit closest to the pin on Hole 3; Wayne Cochran hit closest on Hole 4, and Josh Watilo had the longest drive.

The Kiwanis Club of Cathlamet uses proceeds from the tournamet to fund scholarships for graduating Wahkiakum High School seniors.
