Murray honored by education association

Washington Senator Patty Murray received the National Education Association’s Friend of Education Award -- its highest honor -- at the association’s annual convention in Atlanta on July 3. NEA’s Friend of Education Award is bestowed upon an individual, organization, or group whose leadership, acts, or support have significantly benefited public education, education employees, and/or students on a national level.

Murray is a former Shoreline School Board member and currently serves as chairwoman of the Senate budget committee.
