James Bjorge

Lifelong Puget Island resident James M. Bjorge, passed away on June 10, 2013 at St. John Medical Center.

Jim was born to Glenn and Ora Loraine (Coates) Bjorge on August 5, 1959 in Longview. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1977. After farming for his whole life, Jim joined his brother Ken in the construction business in 1986. On June 1, 1987 Jim married Joannie Olsen.

Jim was a generous, loving family man and a larger than life member of his community, volunteering and helping wherever he was needed, supporting and sponsoring many youth sports teams over the years. He enjoyed his work building many custom homes around the community. He was talented and dependable and leaves behind many clients who became friends.

In addition to his love of work and community he and Joannie enjoyed many family vacations in Hawaii and hosting barbecues for family and friends. Another of his passions was the cattle farming which he continued until four weeks ago when he became ill. Jim was a modest man and a presence around the community with a big smile and friendly wave and he will be greatly missed!

Jim is survived by Joannie; his children Allison Bjorge, Brian Cochran and Tia Otis; brothers Kenneth (Joyce) and Craig Bjorge; a sister Cathy (Mark) Reynolds; his Mom and Stepdad Ora Loraine and Ray Bauer; Mother-in-law and Stepfather-in-law Carol and Jim Mast; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and business associates.

Jim was preceded in death by his Dad, Glenn Bjorge in 1986; a brother Kirk Bjorge in 2001; his father-in-law, Gary Olsen in 2009 and a nephew, Joby Bjorge in 1989.

A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet.
