Michael Johnson, a forester employed by Hancock Forest Management in Cathlamet, has recently completed the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation’s 18-month Agriculture and Forestry Leadership Development Program. To complete the program, he attended 14 seminars comprising 59 days of intensive training for service to the natural resource industries and rural communities of the State of Washington.
Participants study local, state, national and international public affairs issues and how they interrelate, learn how to analyze issues in a decision-making process, improve personal skills in working with people and in communications, and study issues influencing Washington’s natural resource industries and rural communities.
