Rock band changes lyrics to show spiritual truths

“Truth Be Told,” a cover band from Portland, OR will appear in concert at River of Life Assembly of God, Cathlamet, this Sunday, 6 p.m.

Known as “Oregon's Classic Rock Christian Parody Band,” this Christian blues band has a unique calling to do parodies on secular hit songs from the 70’s and 80’s, changing the lyrics to resonate spiritual truths while leaving the instrumental core essentials of the song intact.

Songs come from bands such as The Doors, Deep Purple, BTO, Bad Company, and Kiss.

Known throughout the Pacific Northwest for their tight rhythms and musical skill, they have performed at Daytona Bike Week, in Dayton Beach, FL. This will be their second year playing during the Sturgis Bike Rally in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

“We are deeply privileged to have this band in concert,” says Pastor Mark Phillips. “They are dedicated to their craft and are superior musicians. Beyond that, they all have a deep love for Jesus Christ.”

No admission will be charged, but a free-will offering will be received.
