Kiwanis Club elects officers

The Kiwanis Club of Cathlamet has elected officers for the 2013-14 fiscal year.

Linda Barth will take over the office of president from Dick Swart. Maureen Zacher Bockius will serve as vice-president, Don Conway as secretary and Carol Danker as treasurer.

Kiwanis is a service club that focuses on programs serving children and youth. The local club raises money for scholarships, supports fund drives for Doernbecher Children's Hospital, and volunteers in programs to support St. James Family center among its many activities.

The club meets the first Tuesday of the month for a potluck meeting; these meetings are at the Elochoman Slough Marina covered picnic area, 6 p.m., June-September. It also meets at 12 noon on the third Tuesday of the month; for the near future, these meetings will be at the Diner on Main Street.
