PUD to cut ribbon for new substation

Wahkiakum PUD will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 24 at 10 a.m. for the Wahkiakum Substation at 116 Jacobson Road (corner of Jacobson and Columbia) in Cathlamet.

Attending the ribbon cutting will be, Bonneville Power Administration, Chad Caldwell and Melanie Jackson; Brown & Kysar, Inc. (electrical engineering and design), Ryan McMaster; JH Kelly (General Contractor), Kelly Vernon; all PUD commissioners and employees.

The public is invited.

"This project was the culmination of nearly five years of planning and would not have been completed without the foresight and diligence of a committed group of commissioners, employees and contractors," PUD General Manager David Tramblie said in announcing the ceremony.

"The substation will provide economic development, flexibility and reliability to our electrical system over the coming decades. Please join us in celebrating this milestone in the history of Wahkiakum PUD."
