The sports calendar for the Naselle Comet teams this week includes the following: Thursday- home baseball and fastpitch against Wishkah at 3:30 p.m. and track at Raymond at 4 p.m .; Monday- baseball and fastpitch at Ocosta at 3:30 p.m .; April 17- home middle school track at 4 p.m .; April 18- home track meet at 4 p.m. Go Comets!

The Naselle-Grays River Valley School Board meets on April 16 at 6:30 p.m. for their regular meeting.

Won’t you join other Ipad owners and learn what they know, and share what you know? The IPUG (Ipad users group) meets on the second and fourth Fridays of each month in the Grays River Valley Library at Johnson Park at 1 p.m.

Rosburg Hall is the place to be for the Annual Chicken Dinner on April 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The dinner is prepared and served by the members of the Rosburg Community Club. Treat yourself and your family to a wonderful dinner of baked chicken with all the trimmings and the homemade desserts.

Welcome home, Poul Toftemark. Did you bring some warm weather with you from the Philippines? We could use a little more of the nice weather, especially with the trees all blossoming out. Here’s hoping it won’t be much longer before you can enjoy having your adoptive son, Elmer, and your lovely wife, Zenaida, at home with you.

The Rosburg Senior Lunch Bunch meets at the Rosburg Hall on Wednesdays for a hot nutritious meal with friends and neighbors. The meals are prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew. On the menu for the 17th is hamburger stroganoff over noodles, veggies, garlic bread and dessert. Lunch is served at noon.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays seniors can also enjoy a meal at the above location and those meals are sponsored by CAP.

Here’s an extra special Happy Birthday to my wonderful neighbor, Virginia Wendelin. Here’s hoping you are back on your feet and feeling better soon. My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery, and for an enjoyable celebration of your birthday. I look forward to seeing you soon. You are a very special lady.

There was another little setback in the Fredrickson household with my husband’s recovery from his stroke. He went into the hospital last Friday with severe pain from shingles. This has certainly been a medical education for us. I had no idea how much pain could be incurred by some little bumps on your back and mid section. He is much better and will probably be at home by the time this column is being read- at least I hope so.

Thanks to everyone for your support and prayers for us through all these past few months. We are looking forward to more good recovery time.
