Donald Deege

Donald “Donte” Loynel Deege, age 51, passed away in his sleep at his home in Iowa City, Iowa on March 11, 2013.

He was born November 20, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA He was raised in Thousand Oaks, CA, were he graduated from Newberry Park High School in 1980. In 1981 he enlisted in the Army and graduated from Military Police school. He was blessed with many gifts and talents. He loved music and played many instruments including guitar, piano, banjo, and accordion, just to name a few. He wrote his own music and enjoyed performing. He was a gifted singer and actor appearing in many community theater productions in California, Washington, Oregon, and Iowa. He was also fluent in many languages. When he would come across someone speaking a language he didn’t know he would introduce himself to them and learn basics of the language and before he knew it he would be speaking their language.

He is survived by his parents Walter and Gean Deege of Rosburg, WA; a brother Christopher (Renee) Deege of Vancouver, WA; a sister Teresa Cooley of Rosburg, WA; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed and he is deeply loved. A memorial will be held on May 4, 2013 at Naselle Lutheran Church, 308 Knappton Rd., Naselle, WA at 10 a.m.
