Busy week for Fredrickson family

Oh, the sounds of family, the laughter of grandchildren, the extra commotion, cooking and chaos. What a great week we are looking forward to. We were hoping for better weather, but will make do, just being together.

News from Naselle:

The sports calendar for Naselle Comet teams includes: Thursday, track at Seaside and home baseball and fastpitch against North Beach at 3:30 p.m .; Monday, baseball at MM Knight at 4 p.m .; Wednesday, baseball and fastpitch at Oakville at 4 p.m. and middle school track at South Bend. Go Comets!

The annual Naselle School science fair will be held on March 26 and 27.

ESA Alpha Theta’s annual Easter egg hunt will be held on March 30 at 11 a.m. sharp on the Naselle High School football field. The event will take place rain or shine. Toddlers and kids through third grade are invited to hunt eggs, but please remember to bring your own basket. There will be lots of prizes to win! The Easter Bunny will be there with candy as well. For more information please call 484-3844.

Other news from the Westend:

Don’t forget to check out the free Friday night movies at the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park. Last week’s movie was the new James Bond movie, SkyFall. It was a very good movie, and some good company to watch it with. Where else can you go to see a recently released movie of this caliber for free? You can also purchase concessions where a big bag of buttered popcorn is only $1, or you can pick up a soft drink or a candy bar. It’s just like at the big expensive theaters, only much cheaper. Family rated movies are shown on the first and fourth Fridays of each month. Call 465-2310 for the next movie showing, or check out the posters at most local bulletin boards in the area.

The Rosburg Senior Lunch Bunch that meets at Rosburg Hall each week will be celebrating Easter on March 27 with their annual Easter Dinner Potluck. Bring a dish to share and enjoy a friendly event with the main course prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteers.

On Tuesday and Thursday senior lunches are also served at the above location and the meals are sponsored by CAP.

Happy Anniversary to Eugene and Eleanor Saari.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my wonderful, determined, hard-working husband a very happy 46th anniversary this weekend. It doesn’t seem like that many years have passed since we first met, but I look forward to many, many more years together. I love you.

Sorry for the brevity of this week’s column, but there’s lots going on here at the Fredrickson household.
