Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of other reports during the past week, including:
February 25—3:01 p.m. A caller reported a possible case of animal abuse after observing an animal with a large tumor on its hoof. 3:15 p.m. A caller reported that cash was missing from their residence. A deputy was advised. 3:29 p.m. A business reported that a person was causing a disturbance. 4:20 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to treat a 16-year-old female who was experiencing a possible overdose.7:04 p.m. One person was taken into custody after a domestic disturbance between a parent and child. A domestic violence victim advocate also responded to the scene.
February 26— 5:42 p.m. A Main Street office had an accidental discharge of dry chemical material used in fire suppression. 7:18 p.m. State Patrol requested assistance from a deputy.
February 27— 8:59 a.m. A caller reported a case of possible animal neglect after observing a foal lying on the ground with its hoofs stuck in a fence. 12:20 p.m. A landowner requested deputy assistance with removing a trespasser from their property. 10:39 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 10-month-old child with a possible infection.
February 28— 7:46 a.m. A caller reported a car was parked in the middle of Una Avenue with no one around. 1:18 p.m. A caller reported a possible case of animal neglect after observing possibly malnourished horses that were in a pasture without food or access to cover. 2:17 p.m. A caller reported a possible theft by a former tenant.
March 1— 8:54 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly female that had fallen. 9:15 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an 88-year-old woman with abdominal pain. 9:16 a.m. A caller reported a possible case of animal neglect after observing possibly malnourished horses. A deputy contacted the horse’s owner and learned that the animals were fed early in the morning and late at night. 2:29 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an 84-year-old man who was having breathing problems. 3:09 p.m. Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence. 5:33 p.m. A caller reported that a television, DVDs and alcohol had been taken from a travel trailer. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported that a pickup had gone into a ditch in the westbound lane near Skamokawa Resort. A tow truck removed the vehicle from the roadway.
March 2— 10:26 a.m. A caller reported that her children had heard someone attempt to use a key to enter their residence around 8:30 p.m. the previous night. 1:33 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to treat a 67-year-old man experiencing stroke symptoms.
March 3— 5:56 p.m. A caller reported that a boat that had been beached on a sandbar two nautical miles east of Puget Island across from Munson Way earlier in the day was still there and appeared to be disabled. 6:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman experiencing back pain possibly related to renal problems.
