Julie Anne Chamberlain was born on February 17, 1948 in Longview, Wash., to Russell and Connie Gorman. She passed away on February 28, 2013, in Bend, Ore., after living with MS for over 40 years. In July of 2012 when the Columbia View Care Center closed Julie moved to Bend Ore. to live near her sister, Becky.
Julie was a lifelong resident of Cathlamet and graduated from Wahkiakum High School as co-Valedictorian in 1966 and attended Washington State University on a full scholarship. She had also been a Wahkiakum Dairy Princess. Julie married Bill Chamberlain on October 12, 1968. They had two sons, Brandon and Nathan and later divorced.
In the early years of Julie’s illness, when her sons were young, she enjoyed flower gardening, tole painting and antiquing. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother.
Julie is survived by son Brandon and wife, Debbie and son Nathan; sisters Shari Parker and Becky Nyberg; brothers, Randy, Jim and Allen Gorman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and her Aunt, Gloria Gorman.
A private graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery in Skamokawa with a Celebration of Julie’s Life to be announced at a later date. Dowling Funeral Home of Cathlamet is in charge of arrangements.
