Sheriff's Report - February 21, 2013

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 11—7:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 13-year-old female with breathing problems.

February 13—12:27 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a woman with back pain and high blood pressure. 2:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who had developed a pressure sore due to mobility issues. 8:20 p.m. A caller reported possible drug activity at a neighbor’s house. A deputy was advised.

February 12—4:44 p.m. A caller reported habitual speeding on their road.

February 14—1:52 a.m. A caller reported that they had observed a man emptying a gas can into their car along SR4 in Skamokawa. The caller was concerned that the gas can the man used might have been stolen from nearby.

February 15—8:42 a.m. Mental health professionals responded to the home of a 37-year-old man experiencing a mental health emergency. 2:40 p.m. A caller reported that a child had been sexually assaulted in the past. A deputy investigated. 4:42 p.m. A caller reported that two dogs were tearing up an RV trailer at County Line Park. 4:44 p.m. A caller reported a possible case of animal abuse. A deputy investigated. 9:16 p.m. A deputy reported a small rock slide 10 yards from SR4 along East Valley Road. The county road crew was advised.

February 16—7:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 74-year-old female with an injured knee.

February 17—12:36 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 26-year-old female who had collapsed due to a diabetic emergency. 10:02 p.m. A caller reported that he had hit a deer a half mile east of Rosburg Store and that the animal was lying in the middle of the road. State Patrol and a deputy responded.

February 18—3:15 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 42-year-old male who was experiencing chest pain. 6:54 a.m. A caller reported that they had hit an elk and that it was blocking the eastbound lane of SR4 near Fern Hill Road. State Patrol was notified.
