State Mat Classic: Two Mules advance to Day 2

Wahkiakum Mule wrestlers Alex Johnson and Mason Mackey each won a match Friday to continue competition at the State Mat Classic, while three teammates were eliminated. Here's the report from Day 1:

126 lbs.--Johnson lost his first match 1-0 in overtime and won his second 6-0. He wrestles Saturday morning at 11:54 a.m.

132 lbs.--Luke Stacey was eliminated after losing his first match 11-4 and his second 13-4.

138 lbs.--Mackey lost his first match 12-2 and pinned his opponent in the second match to advance. He wrestles Saturday at 12:10 p.m.

152 lbs.--Nate Cothren was eliminated after losing his first match 15-0 and his second 8-7.

170 lbs.--Trystan Mendez was eliminated after losing his first two matches by falls.
