On December 19, the Mule girls faced an undefeated team, the Lady Loggers in Onalaska. The Mules led by two at halftime, but due to a weak third quarter, the Mules lost 45-39, despite rallying in the final eight minutes.
“We dug ourselves into too big of a hole that we weren’t able to overcome,” said Coach Rob Garrett. "This group has an opportunity to be something special and they are just starting to believe that themselves. They have improved so much this year and it’s really starting to show in their games."
Sam Boyce and Baylee Olsen scored 11 apiece. Haylee Budd and Tori Wegdahl scored seven while pulling down five rebounds each. Hailey Quigley scored three. Maya Stanley had four steals.
The Lady Mules will next face local rival, the Naselle Comettes today (Thursday) at 8 p.m. for the KM Trophy.
