D. Nadine Aldinger 84, formerly of Cathlamet, passed away on Dec.1 at Hospice Care Center in Longview. Nadine was born on Nov. 5, 1928 in Winona, Missouri. Her family moved to Oregon where she graduated from Warrenton High School in 1946 and attended the University of Oregon. She married Paul Aldinger on June 10, 1972 in Vancouver,WA.
She was employed at Bemis Co. in Vancouver for several years before working for Senator Patty Murray as staff assistant until she retired in 1995. After 25 years of living in Vancouver and upon retirement, Paul and Nadine moved to Puget Island where they spent 12 wonderful years.
Nadine enjoyed nature and ship watching, and made many lasting friendships in this area. Support of arts and education were very important to Nadine along with her joy in doing volunteer work. She was a member of Skamokawa United Methodist Church, Vancouver First United Methodist Church, Arts Alliance of the State of Washington, Washington State Arts Commission, Wahkiakum Historical Society and Cathlamet Womans’ Club.
She is survived by her husband Paul; a son, Jim; daughters, Sheri and Roxanna; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Nadine’s Life will be held on Sunday December 16 at 2 p.m. at Vancouver First United Methodist Church located at 33rd St and Main in Vancouver. In lieu of flowers donations made to Community Home Health and Hospice, P.O.Box 2067, Longivew, WA 98632 or United Methodist Church Camp, Ocean Park, WA. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
