Morris Deaton died on November 30, 2012 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He was born in Isola, Mississippi on November 19, 1939.
His family moved to Cathlamet in 1949. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1958. He served in the Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He had lived in the Tri-Cities, WA, area for 45 years. He was a retired carpenter, Local 59 Carpenters Union.
Morris is survived by his son, Sterling (Merrilee) Deaton, and daughter, Yevonne Deaton, three grandchildren; Lyndsay Deaton, Logan Ecclestone and Zaeden Deaton, his brother Ted (Carol) Deaton, sisters, JimmieLou Cleveland and Linda Chapman of Mississippi, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents O.A. and Iuna Deaton, and brother Paul Deaton, of Alabama. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8th at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet where Morris will be interred. In lieu of flowers, contributions to defer funeral expenses can be sent to S. Deaton, 107 George Washington Way, Richland, WA 99352.
