Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Winter is here, it looks like. The leaves seem to be more colorful this year for some reason. Maybe because we haven’t had much frost.
Hunting season is definitely in full swing. Lots of hunters out and about so don’t forget to keep an eye on your pets, especially if they don’t like gunshots. I understand that quite a few animals have already been taken.
We had a great weekend as we took a quick trip to Redmond. Ore. for the opening of Smith Rock Brewing Company, the new brew pub and restaurant owned and run by our daughter Danielle, her husband Kevin, and our son Don and his wife Natalie. If was wonderful for so many reasons, but mostly because Del was able to walk into the restaurant using his cane to be served as the very first customer. He is doing so well, just two months since his stroke. Thank you everyone for your prayers, support and kind gestures.
News from Naselle:
Naselle has lost a great person and personal ambassador with the death of Phil Raistakka. He lived and loved his entire life in this area and he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. I remember reading his articles in the newspaper when we first moved here, and he put so much of himself in his writing as well as his love for his community. It was truly a pleasure to have known him. My deepest condolences to Anita, his family and friends. God bless you, Phil.

Though Merlin and Judy will undoubtedly celebrate together, Alan will probably be out in the woods hunting and Penny will be sunning herself on the beach in Hawaii. Sounds like a celebration for later. It’s wonderful to be able to call you friends. Happy Anniversary.
