Pastor taking a dangerous path

To The Eagle:

We read with heavy hearts the letter by the man who calls himself a New Testament Christian pastor and supports gay marriage.

He says he looks to Jesus for instruction on this issue. Why doesn't he ask the Holy Spirit to lead him while he reads the book of instruction the Holy Bible and the truth will be found?

The New Testament does address homosexuality and condemns it as an immoral and unnatural sin. Leviticus 18:22 identifies the homosexual act as an abomination and a detestable sin. Romans 1:26-27 declares homosexual desires and actions to be shameful, unnatural, lustful and indecent. 1Corinthians 6:9 states that homosexuals are unrighteous and will not inherit the kingdom of God. Since both homosexual desires and actions are condemned in the Bible, it is clear that homosexuals marrying is not God's will and would be, in fact, sinful.

We will be praying for this pastor and his congregation asking that their eyes and ears will be opened to the truth of the word. This is a very dangerous road, Pastor, that you are taking yourself and your people down. One that leads to eternal hell. We too believe the New Testament teachings, but we are also aware of what the Old Testament brought to us by God and was fulfilled in the New Testament.

We do love all people and that is why it hurts us to see these false teachings being displayed so carelessly in some churches today.

Eternity is a long time! Vote no on 74.
