Chocolate extravaganza

The Charlotte House Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Advisory Board hosted their 14th Annual Chocolate Extravaganza last Friday.

This year, 30 volunteers offered their chocolate goodies to help raise funds for our program. Most of the 30 bakers are from Wahkiakum County, but there were treats coming from Cowlitz and Lewis Counties as well. The local Women’s Club will once again served coffee, and Fred Carter provided the entertainment.

The money raised at this event will go towards expenses that are not covered in our contracts. Stephanie & Kevin Prestegard and Kay & Wayne Cochran have graciously offered their beautiful Hotel Cathlamet as our venue. We could not possibly host this event year after year without the support of our community.

This year’s event is dedicated to Wahkiakum County Sheriff Jon Dearmore who served on our advisory board since the beginning of our program. Jon’s support of the work we do has been an integral part of the services we provide to victims and survivors. We will miss him as a member of our board, but more importantly as a friend.
