Margaret E. Allen

Margaret Evelyn Allen, 90, of Bothell, died October 4, 2012.

She was born in Antrim, Northern Ireland on February 12, 1922 to John Campbell and Emily Foley. After growing up near Belfast, she served in the British Army for six years, surviving the Blitz in London and having the honor of serving tea to the Queen Mother and having breakfast with Eleanor Roosevelt. She also met her future husband Otto H. Allen, who preceded her in death in 1983.

She is survived by her sister Betty Harrison; daughters Linda Elliott of Dahlia and Sydney Hunsdale of Woodinville, also five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

No memorial will be held and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in her name.
