Fugitive caught in Chinook

A man who escaped from the Clatsop County jail work crew about a month ago has been captured in Pacific County, Wahkiakum County Sheriff Jon Dearmore reported Tuesday.

The suspect's name is Ron Legler, a former Wahkiakum County resident.

Dearmore had little information about the arrest, other than it was without incident.

Legler had been seen in the Rosburg area, and residents several times in the past two weeks reported other possible sitings from Fossil Creek Road to the Astoria/Megler bridge area, but when officers arrived, no one was around.

Legler is a 39 year old white male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing 6 feet, 3 inches and weighing 250 pounds. He was considered dangerous, and has access to weapons.
