Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
October 1--12:38 p.m. A Pleasant Point Road resident reported that her ex-husband had violated a court order. 2:06 p.m. A deputy was requested to assist in the probation case of a man working on Columbia Street. 2:19 p.m. A caller reported a woman was being harassed on Main Street. 4:33 p.m. A caller reported a disturbance at a Country Court Lane address involving a neighbor who was out of control and yelling and screaming. 7:22 p.m. An East Sunny Sands Road resident reported hitting a deer with his car.
October 2--11:30 p.m. A Fossil Creek Road resident reported that a vehicle that was being sought by the Sheriff's Office was parked in the area. A deputy was advised. 2:12 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that an underage male had purchased a handgun. A deputy made contact. 7:30 p.m. A West Deep River Road resident reported a burglary and the possible theft of a camera and jewelry. The caller later phoned back to say that he had found the camera in some bushes.
October 3--7:48 a.m. A caller reported hitting an elk with his log truck causing damage. State patrol was notified. 1:04 p.m. A Foster Road resident reported a possible drunk driver. A deputy stopped the vehicle on Elochoman Valley Road. 6 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet business to aid a 63-year-old woman who was sick.
October 4--10:01 a.m. A caller reported a case of trespassing and the theft of a camera and woodcutting equipment at School Forest. 4:24 p.m. A caller reported an unattended child was playing in the road on Una Street. A deputy responded. 7:21 p.m. Deputies, the Cathlamet ambulance and the Puget Island Fire Department responded to a tractor and trailer that were on fire on East Sunny Sands Road. 10:06 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on North Welcome Slough Road.
October 5--11:30 a.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that her car had been ransacked and stereo equipment had been stolen. 1:28 p.m. An East Valley Road resident reported that some people staying in a tent in the area had allegedly broken into a motorhome and stolen clothing, cooking items and a television. 4:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the Nassa Point Motel to aid a 31-year-old male who was dizzy.
October 6--1:19 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an SR 409 address to aid an 81-year-old man who could not stand. 1:31 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported the theft of a GPS unit from a vehicle.
October 7--3:30 p.m. The Cathlamet and Skamokawa fire departments and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a house fire on East Valley Road. 4:50 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to a brush fire on West Sunny Sands Road. 5:06 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a disturbance at a Randal Road address involving a verbal fight over an injured juvenile. 8:32 p.m. Deputies, the Cathlamet ambulance and the Skamokawa fire department responded to a Skamokawa business after a report of the smell of burning plastic and smoke.
