Lady Mules fall to Mossyrock 3-1

The visiting Mossyrock Vikings tamed the Wahkiakum Lady Mules volleyball team 3-1 in the start of Central League matches last Thursday.

The Mules fell 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15 as they had trouble with serve receive and passing.

Jem Dyer served 100 percent and had 11 digs for the Mules, and Amy Gawith had seven kills.

On Tuesday, the Mules swept the Winlock Cardinals in three sets, 25-7, 25-8, 25-7.

Morgan Elliott and Madison LaBerge both served 100 percent for the Mules, and Elliott had seven aces and 10 service points. Tori Wegdahl added 10 service points and eight assists.

The Mules entertain Adna tonight (Thursday). On Saturday, the varsity will compete in the RA Long Tournament in Longview, and the junior varsity will compete in the Clatskanie JV Tournament. On Tuesday, the teams travel to Pe Ell; Onalaska comes to Cathlamet on October 11.
