Diane E. Clark

Diane E. Clark, 67, of Titusville, Fla., died peacefully at home on August 16 after a year-long battle with cancer.

Diane was born in Binghamton, N.Y. on September 29, 1944, daughter of Vivian and Ambrose Winans. She was raised in the vicinity of Montrose, Pa., and later lived for many years in Cathlamet.

She worked as a secretary to help put her husband through college. Later, she held various positions including secretary, clerk, housewife and teacher’s aide.

Diane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered for her kind heart and love of animals. She lived on the Julia Butler Hansen National Wildlife Refuge near Cathlamet for 31 years and volunteered on numerous wildlife management projects. Her appreciation and respect for the outdoors was evident in her love of fishing, camping, and bird watching. Diane also volunteered her time to the Willapa Hills chapter of the Audubon Society by helping to prepare their monthly newsletter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Winans.

She is survived by her husband Alan Clark of Titusville; her daughter, Addy Clark and husband Jon Trussell of Longview; granddaughter, Charlotte Trussell of Longview; and a brother, Lynn Winans of Montross, Va.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on September 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Duck Inn in Skamokawa. All who knew Diane are invited. Casual dress. Snacks will be provided
