Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
August 20--9:01 a.m. Deputies assisted with a warrant service on Columbia Street. 2:22 p.m. A report was made of a juvenile threatening a relative at a Main Street address. 10:08 p.m. A West SR 4 resident reported hearing 10-12 shots on a neighboring property. A deputy made contact and found neighbors to be firing shots to scare away unwanted animals.
August 21--8 a.m. A caller reported a 47' sailboat had run aground at the west entrance of the Elochoman Slough Marina. A deputy made contact with the Coast Guard. The boat was freed when the tide came in. 8:46 a.m. A Loop Road resident reported a friend was being harassed by a neighbor; a deputy made contact.
August 22--5:03 a.m. Deputies assisted state troopers in a vehicle stop at Miller Point Road. Three people were taken into custody. 8:02 a.m. Deputies helped serve a Department of Corrections warrant in Deep River. One person was taken into custody. 4:41 p.m. A report was made of a logging truck rollover accident on Salmon Creek Road. 6:31 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that a grey pick up had peeled out and damaged her RV and boat with gravel. 7:29 p.m. A caller reported that he had not yet been paid for work carried out in Alaska. A deputy made contact and advised the caller it was a civil issue.
August 23--1:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Jacobson Road address to aid a woman with a diabetic problem. 7:37 p.m. A Fairgrounds Road resident reported an assault. A deputy responded and one person was taken into custody. A domestic rights advocate was advised.
August 24--11:32 a.m. An Elochoman Valley Road resident reported receiving a possible scam phone call. 3:49 p.m. A Middle Valley Road resident reported a possible case of elder abuse. A deputy investigated. 5:20 p.m. A caller reported a woman was selling drugs from her car. 7:29 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a 15-year-old male longboarder with back and head injuries. 5:51 p.m. An Ostervold Road resident reported a man was driving around soliciting work and giving high estimates in a possible scam.
August 25--9:42 a.m. A caller reported that a dog was tied up at the Oneida Boat ramp and barking constantly. 2:32 p.m. A caller reported a dog had been left in a car at the marina. 4:32 p.m. An inmate at the county jail attempted suicide. Mental Health was advised and the subject was placed under 24-hour restrictions. 6:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to 3rd Street to aid a 35-year-old female with an injured foot.
August 26--2:49 a.m. A caller reported a tree had fallen over SR 4. A deputy was advised and set out flares. State patrol was notified after a vehicle hit the tree. 11:26 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a longboarder with a knee injury. 11:45 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the grade school to aid a longboarder with a possible broken hand. 12:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an SR 409 address to aid an 82-year-old woman who was having a possible stroke. 4:19 p.m. A caller reported the theft of three skateboards from a vendor at the Downhill Corral. 5:04 p.m. A Fern Hill Road resident reported people were picking berries on their property without permission. 7:08 p.m. A caller reported possible illegal dumping in the Greenwood Cemetery dumpster.
