Sheriff's Report - August 2, 2012

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 24--4:03 p.m. A caller reported that a pickup truck had passed them and chipped their windshield. A deputy investigated. 4:49 p.m. A Longview caller reported that he had been kicked out of his grandmother's house in a possible violation of a parenting plan from a Wahkiakum County order. A deputy was advised.

July 25--7:41 p.m. A caller reported a transient from Tacoma was in the Cathlamet area looking for a place to pitch a tent. 10:35 p.m. A caller reported possible drug activity in a Cathlamet area house involving suspicious vehicles. A deputy was advised. 11:33 p.m. A South 2nd Street resident reported that three teenage girls, including her daughter, had snuck out of a tent. A deputy was advised but the caller called back to say the girls had returned.

July 26--7:56 p.m. A caller from the transfer station reported that a door was wide open and that someone had taken a pulley from one of the containers. A deputy was advised. 1:26 p.m. A Pleasant Point Road resident reported a violation of a restraining order. 10:06 p.m. A caller reported a big truck was driving erratically behind her on SR 4, almost rear ending her car and driving at differing speeds. When the caller arrived home, her husband pursued the suspect in order to get a license number and was confronted by the erratic driver who threatened to shoot him.

July 27--3:46 p.m. An East Sunny Sands resident reported a civil dispute over a pickup truck that had been loaned and not returned.

July 28--8:49 p.m. A caller reported that a dog had chased and tried to bite him as he rode his bike on South Welcome Slough Road. 10:29 a.m. A Raistakka Road resident reported that a neighbor's dog had killed nine chickens. 5:54 p.m. A caller reported an injured hawk on West SR 4. A wildlife rehab center was contacted and they picked up the bird. 7:13 p.m. A South 2nd Street resident reported that a juvenile had been thrown out of his home by his mother. A deputy made contact. 11:42 p.m. A caller reported a car accident on Elochoman Valley Road. A car had missed the corner and driven into a wooded area. Both occupants were transported to the hospital by Life Flight.

July 29--8:31 a.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported that his granddaughter's car had been broken into and a diamond ring and money had been taken. 7:52 p.m. A caller reported illegal fishing at Kent's Hole on the Elochoman River. State Patrol was notified.
