Sheriff's Report - July 12, 2012

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 2--12:09 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley Road address to aid a man who was lying next to his truck having a focal seizure. 9:49 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that people were dealing drugs in the trailer park. 4:36 p.m. A North Welcome Slough Road resident reported that their neighbor's dog was loose. The caller said that the dog's owners had not been home to feed or water their pets. The owners' son was contacted. 4:37 p.m. The District #4 fire crew responded to a Jacobson Road address after a report of fire in the residence. 6:28 p.m. A caller reported a vagrant at the Cathlamet Library who was looking for something to eat. 7:45 p.m. A West Little Island Road resident reported that a possibly intoxicated person was making threats. 10:12 p.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported that his daughter had left the house and had been picked up by another adult who had been called by the juvenile. A deputy made contact with both parties. 10:59 p.m. A caller reported someone was firing a shotgun on Puget Island, possibly at deer.

July 3--8:40 a.m. A Cedar Lane resident reported that his soon-to-be ex-wife was holding his mail and refusing to give it to him. 9:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Fern Hill address to aid a person who was depressed. 5:54 p.m. A caller from County Line Park requested extra patrols after a problem with overnight campers and fireworks. 10:23 p.m. A West Sunny Sands resident reported that a pick up towing a large boat was speeding. A deputy was advised. 9:16 p.m. A caller reported that two juveniles were engaged in inappropriate behavior at the school park. A deputy made contact with the juveniles. 11:20 p.m. A caller reported fireworks being discharged after hours at the Elochoman Slough Marina. 11:34 p.m. A caller reported that a Jeep had been involved in an accident on SR 4 at the Wahkiakum/Cowlitz county line and that the owner would collect it the following day. State Patrol was notified. 11:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley Lane resident to aid a five-year-old boy who was vomiting continuously.

July 4--11:23 a.m. A caller reported that three juveniles had untied a barge on Welcome Slough. The caller retied the barge, but called back again at 12:55 p.m. to say the kids were back on the barge. 1:09 p.m. A business reported that a vehicle had driven off without paying for fuel. 2:58 p.m. A caller from the marina reported an aggressive dog was causing a disturbance. 6:58 p.m. A caller from the marina reported shots had been fired. 7:23 p.m. An Ostervold Road resident reported that neighbors were setting off illegal fireworks. 9:19 p.m. A caller reported that people were throwing fireworks into the road on SR 4. 9:24 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Beaver Estates Lane resident who had fallen and hit his head. The patient signed a refusal.

July 5--9:37 p.m. A business reported receiving fraudulent checks. 12:46 p.m. An East Sunny Sands Road resident reported that their son had been drinking for three days. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. 1:19 p.m. A Salmon Creek Road resident reported a dog was barking continuously. A deputy investigated. 3:40 p.m. A caller reported a disturbance on Main Street. One person was taken into custody. 10:35 p.m. A caller who was taking care of an Olive Road residence reported three vehicles on the property that did not have permission to be there. 10:56 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the fire hall to aid a man who had fallen.

July 6--12:46 p.m. A caller reported a case of animal neglect at the fairgrounds. 3:03 p.m. A Clover Street resident reported a case of child sex abuse. 6:39 p.m. An Elochoman Valley Road resident reported vandalism that appeared to have resulted from someone trying to gain access. 9:57 p.m. A caller reported hitting a horse with a car. The Cathlamet ambulance also responded. 10:03 p.m. A West Sunny Sands resident reported that someone was letting off illegal fireworks.

July 7--8:17 a.m.The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Michael Street address to aid a person who was having a reaction to medication. 12:05 p.m. A caller reported being trapped in her tent at the Elochoman Slough Marina by three pit bulls. 12:15 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported being stalked by a man in a possible violation of a protection order. 12:40 p.m. A caller reported a man driving a truck was poaching steelhead on SR 4 near Abe Creek. State Patrol was advised. 2:14 p.m. A deputy stopped a vehicle and took one person into custody. 6:44 p.m. The Grays River fire department and ambulance responded to a tractor fire on Barr Road. 9:02 p.m. A caller reported her husband was drinking whilst taking care of their 13-year-old son. 9:47 p.m. A West Sunny Sands Road resident reported neighbors were letting off fireworks.

July 8-- 5:46 p.m. A Country Court Lane resident reported an out of control juvenile. A deputy responded and both parties agreed to contact Health and Human Services. 5:47 p.m. A caller reported the theft of a generator from a tractor that had sustained damage to two window on a Schoolhouse Road property. 5:24 p.m. A caller reported that a cage with 11 chickens due for auction in it had been taken from the back of a pick up truck on West SR 4. 10:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a W SR 4 residence to aid a 67-year old female with an elevated pulse and low blood pressure.
