Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
June 19--4:10 p.m. A caller stated that her vehicle had been struck in a hit-and-run incident in the area of Chester and 3rd streets. 5:10 p.m. A deputy carried out a field sobriety test after a traffic stop on SR 4. One person was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
June 20--10:42 a.m. A caller reported trespassers had left a vehicle on property near Altoona. 12:32 p.m. A caller reported speeding log trucks near Elochoman Valley Road had almost hit a person. 3:15 p.m. A caller reported a man with a suspended license was driving a vehicle. 3:31 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Munson Way residence to aid a 14-year-old boy with a severe allergic reaction. 4:41 p.m. A Pleasant Point Road resident reported that his brother had just violated a restraining order. A deputy responded and one person was taken into custody. 9:22 p.m. A Columbia Street resident reported that her husband had locked her out of her home. A deputy made contact with both parties and the dispute was resolved.
June 21--9:52 a.m. A caller reported that her son's house on West SR 4 had been broken into and fishing equipment had been taken. She then called back to report that a cabin on the same property had also been burgled. 10:17 a.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported a theft of vehicle parts. 3:07 p.m. A West SR 4 resident reported a behavioral problem with a juvenile. A deputy responded. 9:53 p.m. A caller reported juveniles were skating in the roadway on Main Street. A deputy was advised.
June 22--4:37 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle accident on Beaver Creek Road. 5:16 p.m. A caller reported that the Wahkiakum trolley had broken down and was blocking the south bound lane of SR 409. 6:43 p.m. A Middle Valley Road resident reported an ongoing problem involving inappropriate contact between an adult male and the caller's 15-year-old daughter. A deputy made contact and advised the man to cease all contact with the girl.
June 23--1:38 a.m. A caller reported that an assault had taken place at a Skamokawa business. The victim was taken to a hospital with a broken jaw while the suspect escaped on foot. He was later arrested. 2:57 p.m. A 3rd Street resident reported that a teacher had assaulted her 16-year-old daughter.
June 24--1:24 p.m. A caller reported that his boat had broken down on the Columbia River. The boat started again while the caller was on the line with dispatch.
