Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
June 5--9:55 a.m. A caller reported that it appeared that someone had broken into a 2nd Street house. 10:05 a.m. A caller reported that a pair of kayak paddles had been taken from a boat at the Elochoman Marina. 1:14 p.m. A caller reported that a home on Elochoman Valley road contained 50 or more cats and a dog that were not being taken care of. Adult Protective Services and the Humane Society were notified.
June 6--11:03 a.m. A caller reported that a man towing firewood was blocking a parking lot in Skamokawa. 6:35 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported that a pit bull was growling at children. A deputy made contact and the owners promised to contain the animal. 9:53 p.m. A Greenwood Road resident reported a domestic disturbance between a juvenile and his uncle. A deputy responded but the subjects had fled the scene.
June 7--12:27 p.m. A caller reported that a dog had locked car keys inside a vehicle. 2:58 p.m. An E SR4 resident reported that someone was camping on a neighbor's property without permission. 9:30 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious person was rummaging through a boat near the high school. A deputy made contact and found that the person had the boat owner's permission to be there.
June 8--1:05 p.m. A caller reported finding drug paraphernalia at a 2nd Street residence, which she turned in at the Sheriff's Office. 1:29 p.m. A Columbia Street resident reported that the valve stems on her tires had been damaged after she had received threats. A deputy was advised. 9:19 p.m. A Main Street resident reported that a woman was causing a disturbance in the courthouse parking lot. Mental health personnel were notified.
June 9--8:40 p.m. A caller reported being assaulted the previous evening at a party. She was advised to complete a statement and to press charges. 5:50 p.m. A deputy pursued a man on a motorcycle on Salmon Creek Road. The motorcyclist was taken into custody after wrecking the bike.
June 10--6:11 a.m. A West SR 4 resident reported a domestic disturbance in which one party was assaulted. Deputies and a domestic violence advocate responded. 3:01 p.m. A caller reported a single car accident on the east side of KM Mountain.
