CALL FOR BIDS
Rural Road Safety Project
WAHKIAKUM COUNTY, WASHINGTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the Board of County Commissioners of Wahkiakum County, Washington at the Public Works Department, 3rd Floor, Wahkiakum County Courthouse, P.O. Box 97, Cathlamet, Washington 98612, until 11:00 A.M. local time on July 3, 2012, and will then and there be opened and publicly read for the Rural Road Safety Project.
Project Description:
This work includes four principal components, a) upgrade signing to the new retro-reflectivity standard, b) improve super-elevation on a curve on Beaver Creek Road, c) improve the intersection striping and configuration at the intersection of Eden Valley Road and Altoona-Pillar Rock Road, and d) add recessed pavement markers to a segment of Beaver Creek Road.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Wahkiakum County. Bid security, other than bid bonds, submitted by unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as practicable after award of the contract.

The successful bidder will be required to execute a written Public Works Contract and to provide performance and payment bonds as described in the project specifications. Time for completion of this project shall be 60 working days beginning on the 7th calendar day following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed, as per the project special provisions.
Wahkiakum County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities in the bidding and to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder.
