Basketball boot camp registration now open

Registration is in progress for Spoonie’s Boys Basketball Boot Camp. The camp will be held July 23 to July 28 with Game Night on July 28 at Thomas Middle School’s gym. The public is welcome to attend.

The camp is open to players entering grades six through 12. Registration forms are available at Thomas Middle School and Wahkiakum High School.

There is a $25 registration fee which includes a T-shirt. Early sign-ups are encouraged to assist with shirt orders. All money left after expenses will be donated to the Pay-To-Play fund for student athletes.

Milkshakes and pop prizes will be awarded for best percentage of free throws, best defensive player, best offensive player, and most improved player. The camp will conclude with a pizza party on July 29 at PJ’s Pizza.

YAP volunteers needed

Volunteers with special skills, hobbies or talents are being sought for this year's St. James Family Center's Youth Adventure Program (YAP).

Volunteers can choose the amount of classes they wish to teach and which age group they would like to work with.

FOS to begin accepting antique consignments for fund raising sale

Antiques and collectibles for consignment for Friends of Skamokawa's fund raising antique sale will be accepted from noon to 4 p.m. on June 18 at Redmen Hall, 1394 SR 4 in Skamokawa.

Items must be tagged with the asking price and a consigner number will be assigned. Unsold items can be picked up from noon until 4 p.m. on July 2 or by arrangement.

Examples of suitable vintage items in good condition include framed prints and paintings, pottery, glassware, old tools, fishing gear, linens, souvenirs, books, kitchenware, old jewelry and furniture.

Due to space and handling considerations, very large pieces of furniture are discouraged. Each consigner is asked to limit themselves to a few good quality items.
