Support all Mules

To The Eagle:

My parents have always told my siblings and me that high school is one of the best times of your life. They say we should cherish it and have fun. One of the main things that have made me enjoy high school the most is sports.

Since I have been in high school, I have been participating in volleyball, basketball, and softball. It is very well known that this town is very into sports and supporting athletics, but since I am part of a girls' sport, it seems like the boys' sports get more support.

I am also a huge fan of the boys and I try to make it to most of their sporting events. Considering I do attend the boys' games and I participate in the girls' games, I definitely notice the difference in the number of fans. Not only do I feel and notice this but other athletes do as well. To be successful in a sport, you need support and motivation. When you have a decent amount of fans showing support, it motivates an athlete to strive to do their best so they can impress people. The point is that the girls who play sports at Wahkiakum High School are considered Mules too. So if you are not busy one night and there are Mule games going on, come on over to the gym and support your Wahkiakum Mules!

Thank you to all the fans that have been supporting the boys and girls for years. It means a lot to us.
