CALL FOR BIDS
EAST VALLEY ROAD SETTLEMENT PROJECT
SKAMOKAWA, WASHINGTON
WAHKIAKUM COUNTY, WASHINGTON
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Board of County Commissioners of Wahkiakum County, Washington, at the Public Works Department, 3rd Floor, Wahkiakum County Courthouse, P.O. Box 97, Cathlamet, Washington 98612, until 11:00 A.M. local time on May 15, 2012, and will then and there be opened and publicly read for the East Valley Road Settlement Project.
Project Description:
This project calls for road repairs to a segment of East Valley Road that experienced a massive settlement. The improvements include excavation of poor soil materials and replacement with stronger, more competent rock materials along with enhanced sub-surface drainage, paving, construction traffic control, erosion control, wetland mitigation and associated work.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Wahkiakum County. Bid security, other than bid bonds, submitted by unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as practicable after award of the contract.

The successful bidder will be required to execute a written Public Works Contract and to provide performance and payment bonds as described in the project specifications. Time for completion of this project shall be 76 working days beginning on the first working day following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
Wahkiakum County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities in the bidding and to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder.
