The Wahkiakum Mule baseball team's offense was a no show through the first four innings last Thursday, but the bats began to awaken in the fifth when they scored a pair of runs before the final out was recorded in the 12-2, five-inning loss to Naselle.
Two days later, the Mules took to the road for Mossyrock and wound up on the wrong end of a pair of crushing defeats, falling 10-0 in the opener and 16-1 in the nightcap, both five-inning outings.
Steven Doumit and Leo Onodera each went 2 for 3 with a double and a single in game two, with Doumit driving in the lone run of the day for the Mules. Onodera, Doumit, and Travis Wegdahl each picked up a single in the opener.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Comets came to Cathlamet for the second time in less than a week, and, much like the first time, they proceeded to take care of the Mules with relative ease in a 10-3 victory over the struggling Mules. No box score information was available.
