The Wahkiakum Mule boys basketball team has advanced to the district tournament semifinals, while the Lady Mules and Naselle Comets and Comettes are facing loser-out games in the consolation bracket.
The Mule boys defeated South Bend 63-48 on Saturday. The Mules will face the Adna Pirates in a semifinal game at 8 p.m. on Thursday in Centralia.
The Lady Mules lost 61-43 to Adna on Saturday. The played South Bend last night (Wednesday) in Rochester after The Eagle went to press.
The Naselle Comettes lost 49-36 to the Pe Ell Trojans last Thursday. The Comettes faced the Morton/White Pass Timberwolves in a loser out game last night (Wednesday) in Rochester. The winner of that game plays the winner of the Wahkiakum-South Bend game Friday, 8 p.m., in Rochester.
The Naselle Comets lost 56-36 to the Mossyrock Vikings in their first round game last week. On Tuesday, the Comets lost 66-64 in overtime to Northwest Christian and were eliminated from the district tournament.
