Lady Mule JV's win 2 of 3 games

The Lady Mule junior varsity won two of their three games this past week, losing to Morton/White Pass 59-40 and Pe Ell 37-18 and Adna 44-42 in overtime on Tuesday.

"With Adna up 38-35, Hailey Quigley drained a 3-point shot with 3.8 seconds left on the clock to send the game into overtime," said JV Coach Steve McClain.

In the overtime period the young Mules outscored the Pirates 6-4 with Whitney Kuller's shot providing the winning margin.

"Dallas Gott turned another defensive gem, and despite being shortest Mule, gathered in seven rebounds," McClain said.

Quigley led the scoring with 19 points; Jessica Thomas and Kaylee Bryant each scored eight, Kuller six and Rachel Patching three.

Despite losing to MWP, the young Mules showed improvement and narrowed the gap, having lost an early season game 56-21. Quigley led the scoring with 11 points. Rounding out the scoring were Gott with seven, Jessica Thomas and Kuller six each, Patching five, Bryant four, and Delaney Doumit one.

Against Pe Ell, the Mules reversed an earlier 38-30 loss, clamping down on the Trojans and limiting them to 21 percent from the field while shooting 44 percent themselves.

Patching exploded for 17 points with support from Thomas with eight, Quigley six, Bryant four, and Kuller two.

Gott led the defensive effort in the front court, McClain said, while the back court trio of Patching, Bryant and Thomas limited the Trojans' Tabitha Skeen to eight points. In the previous meeting with the Mules, Skeen had scored 27 of the Trojans' 38 points.
