Canceled concert to go ahead Jan 28
The Pioneer Community Association's recently canceled Encore Concert is now set to take place at the Pioneer Church in Cathlamet on January 28 at 7:30 p.m.
It will feature Andrew Emlen on cello, Jeffrey Reynolds on violin and Ronald Thompson on piano.Tickets are $10 per person and will be sold at the Bank of the Pacific or may be purchased at the door.
Crab Feed tickets now available
The 28th annual Crab and Oyster Feed, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce will take place March 10 at the Norse Hall on Puget Island.
Seatings are scheduled for 3:45 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are available exclusively at the Bank of the Pacific's Cathlamet Branch; call 360-795-3228.
Participants need to bring condiments and cracking tools and will have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets. For more information call the chamber at 795-9996.
Mushrooms take center stage at presentation
The Willapa Hills Audubon Society and the Lower Columbia College Biological Society will welcome Professor Kyle Hammon of Lower Columbia College presenting “Mushrooms: More Than Just a Pretty Face" on February 8.
The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at LCC, room # psc 104. Hammon will present a digital slide show and will discuss the diversity of fungi and their impact on humans, both beneficial and otherwise. The program is free and all are welcome.
Historical Society
offers romantic dinner
Tickets for Wahkiakum County Historical Society's annual raffle for a romantic Valentine Dinner for two are now available. The dinner this year is being donated by Don and Kitty Speranza, innkeepers at the Inn at Crippen Creek Farm located at 15 Oatfield Rd. in Skamokawa.
The raffle winner will contact the inn to arrange a date for the dinner for two. Tickets are only $5 and proceeds from the raffle will contribute to the continued operation of the Wahkiakum County Historical Museum. Drawing for the raffle winner will be held February 12.
This year's dinner will include a meal, champagne or beverage of choice, and flowers and candy for the winner's guest. Tickets are available at local participating downtown stores in Cathlamet or from Historical Society board members.
