Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
December 19--12:32 a.m. An Elochoman Valley Road resident reported a burglary at a mobile home. 2:47 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported her car had been broken into two weeks previously and casette tapes and cell phone accessories had been taken.
December 20--7:45 a.m. A caller reported a car with a loud exhaust speeding on Columbia Street. The car was located on Jacobson Road. 8:00 a.m. A caller reported a blue Honda had run off the road, over a fence and into a ditch on SR 4. The vehicle was unoccupied when a deputy arrived. 8:30 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an 80 year old man who had fallen out of bed. 4:06 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a possible case of child abuse. 6:18 p.m. A caller reported hitting an elk on SR 4.
December 21--7:06 a.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle on the white line on SR 4. State Patrol was notified. 10:37 p.m. An Eagle Point resident reported someone had put oil or water on his car.
December 22--9:24 a.m. A Columbia Street resident reported a woman had been assaulted by her boyfriend who was probably heading for the Jacobson Road area. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. An arrest was made later that afternoon. 2:41 p.m. A caller reported a frosted over vehicle parked in the Chester Avenue area with the passenger side window and sun roof open. A deputy investigated. 5:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 75 year old male who was weak and confused. 11:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a 61 year old female with a head injury.
December 23--4:49 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with chest pain. 9:01 a.m. A Chester Avenue caller reported someone had cut a lock to get into his parking lot and left a vehicle parked in the disabled spot. A deputy responded and the vehicle was towed. 10:28 a.m. A caller reported someone had killed a white tail deer, taken the horns and left the remains on his property. 2:31 p.m. Deputies arrested a person for driving with a suspended license. State patrol and a tow truck also responded. 2:55 p.m. A caller reported a car had backed into their motorcycle in a parking lot. 5:00 p.m. A Columbia Street resident reported the theft of a Ford Taurus. A deputy investigated and found the report to be unfounded. Property was secured from the vehicle which was returned to the registered owner. 10:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Columbia Street resident who had fallen and dislocated a shoulder.
December 24--8:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man who was having difficulty breathing. 10:09 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that her mailbox had been vandalized. 1:24 p.m. A caller reported arresting a subject on a no bail warrant from Kelso. A deputy responded. 2:37 p.m. A caller reported people throwing rocks on the hillside at Cathlamet Marina.
December 25--1:49 a.m. A deputy reported slick driving conditions on SR 4 between mileposts 9 and 14. The Department of Transportation was notified. 5:53 a.m. A caller reported being woken by someone spraying what smelled like formaldehyde on his bedroom window.
