The Wahkiakum Lady Mule basketball team had ups and downs in action this past week.
On Tuesday, the Mules beat the visiting Mossyrock Vikings 62-34.
The Mules led 25-21 at halftime. Their press crushed the Vikings in the third quarter, with the Mules outscoring the visitors 24-7 in the period and moving to a 49-28 lead going into the final quarter.
Brieanna Olsen led the scoring with 21 points. Sam Boyce added 14, Haylee Budd nine, Baylee Olsen eight, Maya Stanley six, and Brianne Helms and Marissa Washington three each.
Boyce also had 10 rebounds and 10 steals.
Last Thursday, the Mules ran into a buzzsaw at Adna and lost 70-22 to the Pirates.
Boyce led the Mule scoring with eight points; Land added seven, Washington six, Helms five, Washington four, Baylee Olsen three, and Budd, Stanley and Brieanna Olsen all had two.
The Mules made four of six free throws, 66.7 percent, and 13 of 58 shots, 22 percent.
The Mules host the Kalama Chinooks boys and girls teams in double header action next Tuesday.
At 5:45 p.m. boys JV will play in the middle school gym while the girls varsities play in the high school. Around 7 p.m. boys varsities play in the high school and girls JV's play in the middle school.
