Sheriff's Report - December 22, 2011

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

December 12--4:26 p.m. A Cathlamet resident said parked cars were blocking a fire hydrant and a mailbox; when an officer arrived, all vehicles were parked legally. 4:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man at Nassa Point. 6:04 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported someone, possibly a child, had burglarized his residence; an officer investigated. 8:57 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a woman who was having trouble breathing.

December 13--9:46 a.m. A caller reported a person had threatened a Humane Society officer over a dangerous dog order. 12:14 p.m. A caller reported a woman angry with a man had armed herself; an officer attempted to contact the woman. 4:24 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a person having a seizure.

December 14--9:55 a.m. A caller reported illegal drug activity; a deputy investigated. 10:08 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman having trouble breathing. 3:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman who was very ill.

December 15--11:11 a.m. A Little Island resident reported a 13' boat was stolen from a boathouse; an officer investigated. 11:27 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman having trouble breathing. 10:23 p.m. A motorist reported a flatbed truck was disabled and blocking SR 4 east of Cathlamet; the state patrol was advised and a tow truck was dispatched.

December 16--4:16 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman having breathing trouble. 10:14 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a woman with diabetic problems. 12:32 p.m. A caller reported violation of a no contact court order; an officer investigated and said the report was unfounded. 3:12 p.m. A caller reported a landslide was blocking both lanes of the Elochoman Valley Road at Milepost 10; the county road department was notified. 6:38 p.m. A caller reported being stuck behind a logging road gate; a forest security officer wasn't able to locate the vehicle, whose driver was able to get home at 9:12 p.m. on December 17. 2:21 p.m. An officer and Mental Health Professional responded to a residence where a teenage girl was combative.

December 17--2:10 a.m. A caller reported a two-car collision on the west side of KM Mountain; a deputy, the state patrol, Grays River and Cathlamet ambulances, and Skamokawa and Cathlamet fire departments were dispatched; two people were injured and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries. 5:20 a.m. A caller reported that roads were covered with ice and were very slick; the county road department was notified. 7:38 a.m. A caller said a water alarm was going off near Grays River; Wahkiakum PUD was notified. 10:54 a.m. A caller said a disabled vehicle was blocking a lane of SR 4 near Cathlamet; the state patrol was notified. 11:09 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a teenage male with a head injury at Wahkiakum High School. 12:45 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to WHS to aid a teenage female with a knee injury. 4:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded a Cathlamet address to aid a person with a chest injury from a traffic accident earlier in the day. 7:39 p.m. A caller reported finding drug items, apparently steroids, by garbage cans at WHS; a deputy investigated.

December 18--6:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Bradley Mountain woman with breathing trouble. 6:49 p.m. A caller reported a homeless person was living in Erickson Park and starting fires to keep warm.
